Half-Life 2 References Rotatable huge blades in water - Telekinesis able to turn them - Water have to dive underwater - Blades blocking water path, telekinesis help to turn it away - After blades are turned, telekinesis also able to walk on top of blades to get across * Can be combined with the rotating bridge of doom for maximum awesomeness. Turbines - Electricity power up - Telekinesis remove item that is blocking the turbines from moving -Kok |

Due to the request of Oran, I am posting updates on our blog now.
Bump. ok seriously, FYP Game (Week4) Environment ideas that are "approved?". Rotating Bridge - Bridge constantly in motion - Telekinesis slow down bridge Metal - Melt by fire - Solidify by water - Movable by telekinesis Mirror Puzzle - Water rotates mirrors - Telekinesis rotates mirrors on ceiling - Electricity powers laser Electric + Dark Room - Electric room on top of dark rooms - Panels on ground in electric room for electricity to stand on and power corresponding light source - Overheat if used too long (flicker then explode) Movable platforms (Tetris Golem) - Platforms to be retrieved from "tutorials" room - Each player can only move the platform in a single plane (eg. 1 person move in X plane, another Y plane, another Z plane, while the last rotates) - Work together to piece together the puzzle - Forms Tetris Golem on return trip. Game flow Tutorial - Normal movement tutorials Tutorial 2 -Players split up to "learn" more about their own powers, and reunite at the end to do tetris puzzle Stage 1 - TBA (Splitting of players (2 and 2) + Mirrors room?) Stage 2 - TBA (Electric and dark room?) Stage 3 - TBA Plot Twist - See "themselves" get killed (KILLING OF THE CLONES!) Alt. Stage 3 - TBA (More action less puzzle room) Alt. First-person shooter, Mirror's edge style, camera moves when using a specific technique [Plot] -1 scientist makes develops technology to use superpowers(fire, water, electricity, telekinesis) -needs test subject to test it, so invites/hire test subjects to the experiment -subjects are brainwashed and undergo surgery to implant technology into their body -they wake up in capsules and have no memories of why thy're here. -A monitor appears with the silhouette of the scientist explaining to them the procedures they went through -The subjects have to work together to be able to pass through the different obstacle courses -All the rooms that they pass through are holographic images being simulated, nothing can hurt them. -They move through simulated rooms that test their abilities. All the while, the scientist recording their every actions for research. -The group has to wait at each door for a short period of time before they are allowed to procced to the next room. [] -The group pass their 3rd course and are about to procced to the 4th. -As they wait for the time to pass, (person with fire) gets impatient and uses his powers to blast through the doors. -They see another batch of people in front, with similar powers and that they are clones of themselves. -The group before are decimated by security turrets. -They are shocked and surprised when they see themselves getting killed. -All of them decide to go back, escape for the time being. -As they are moving back, turrets attack them, trying to prevent them from reaching the 1st room. -When they finally reach the 1st room, they see the video of the sillhouette again. -This time, the sillhouete steps out and the team realizes it's one of them. -A beam shoots at the scientist, and he regains his memories. [] -The remaining three has to kill the scientist, they will get killed. -The last group standing completes the game.

My view. Sorry for being late. :/ So i guess we are going non-gender for the time being? *shot* Fire- Smaller-than-average build with a normal mechnical arm for his equipment, kinda like MegaMan with his X-Buster, cept with a robot arm in place of it. He can have a small tightened slingbag on his back and a tube is connected to the arm for fuel. The center of his arm can open up for the fuel/gas while he snaps his hands to create fire? Probably a REALLY young adult. Water - Average build with slightly thinner proportions. She gets fin-like arms(like Batman's gauntlets. Water Blade?) that are connected to a slim backpack(to enable that 'flowing' shape). Maybe add a diving helmet for those underwater adventures! Electricity - I'll probably get killed for this. BIG build, something like Brick or Heavy, cept bigger. His entire upper body gets encased in some mechnical armour, and his face also gets a 'half-armour' thingy(like the Captain when he is Borg?). Telekinesis - Average build, but has a slight hunchback to indicate his age. Gets a light armourplate for his body and dons cybernectic boots. |

Ligen's view of characters
fire: Someone who has the most normal build. Having a tank like thingy equipment as a backpack with tube like thingy popping out to be able to destinct his/her silouwet from the others. Elec: Someone who has more length and skinny from the rest. To me, electricity guy would be someone who has long legs so he look like he's someone who can move fast. Water: Someone who looks a bit smaller then the rest to get the feeling of being elastic and able to travel through tight spaces easily. Acessory like swimming google will make it silouwet more destinct. Tele: Someone who have long arms and normal build. Tele would have a dual hand equipment that is sphere shape looking and have partices like small sphere rotating around his arms. That's very briefy how I visual the character to be from my thoughts. Kept it short and sweet so you can read faster and get the message across~ [-:] |

Kok's character ideas. - @ 6:28 AM
I m thinking of having the builds of the character to be similar, with their main differences being their facial features and "backpack"
"backpack" will be something like red faction guerilla MP, with different backpacks for different powers. Backpack Fire - 2 or more oxygen tank kinda tank with different sizes, containing compressed flammable liquid/gas. Tanks supposed to look bulky and with dents/imperfections on it. Also, there could be valve at the top of the tank, and maybe with a few dials and meters to "show" the content's volume. There will be pipes leading out to the mechanism on the arm. I am imagining it to be black and small in diameter, in order to direct quick strong burst of liquid/gas to the mechanism on the arm. Water - Similar to that of the fire guy, but instead of having multiple tanks, there is only 1 tank for the water guy. There could be a clear section on the side of the tank to reveal the content in the tank - which is plainly just water. There could be pipes leading out of the tank and to the mechanism on the arm. The difference between the pipes here and that of the fire is that it will be clear (able to see liquid flowing) and also bigger diameter. Electric - Ghostbusters. nuff said. Lots of dials and oscillator graph kinda display, LED displays. Cables going in and out of the "backpack", and maybe electric pumps/motors included inside. (imagining the innards of a car engine, with valves point up and down. those valves will moving and charging up to create electricity) Have a fan-like structure at the center of the backpack, to perhaps cool down the device to prevent overheating. Telekinesis - Backpack similar to the electric 1, with a complex system. Wires and cables will be seen leading out of the backpack and onto a mechanism that is on the arm, and as well as a helmet that is unique to the telekinesis guy. He will have the professor Xavier-ish kinda helmet, with alot of nodes and holes that the cables can plug into. Also, there could be electric pads on the helmet as well. All in all, my idea is to have a nice backpack design which is unique to each of the element, and not so much of the build and frame of the characters. The characters will be wearing similar clothing, and thus the "backpacks" will be standing out from the model of the characters, and thus be interesting to look at. not sure if it's a good idea, but that's what I have for now. dun worry, I will still be thinking of more ideas, and will be posting them here when I have them. - Kok (typed and submitted on phone - please forgive my grammar or typo mistakes) |

My kind of fire should be a guy with a normal built and not muscular please, as he does have a strong power and balance of speed. Equipment could be behind him or right beside attached to his legs. The equipment is probably a tank in my opinion(imo). If it isn't, I have another idea that is to have an attachment from the shoulders to the elbows(slightly a bit after the elbow). Water I would prefer a water lady and it should be normal maybe a bit slightly slim built. The equipments that I thought of two different ones. One is to have a headwear with something like glasses(like a box [] across the eyes). Another is to have an attachment on the below arm but not wrapping around the arm; More like an external attachment onto the arm. Electricity Electric guy/lady should be kinda slim/paper looking and that depicts more speed:power. Apparently I feel speed is his/her power. The equipment could be wires/pipes attached around his/her body or can even be just a tiny tube tank showing the energy on the back. Adding on to more equipment idea, I thought of may be it can be like Ironman core in the middle or somewhere else. Telekinesis If it's a guy, I would like a big size built guy looks serious and ready. The equipment that I would prefer is a core in the center or a circular form of thing behind him; kinda like a sun looking shape. If it's a lady, I would like a normal and slightly more well-built than the Water. The equipment preferably will be a headwear/crown/tiara to control her powers. Hopefully it isn't confusing to understand

Plot Twist Ideas - @ 4:29 AM
This is a simple summary of ideas that we have thought for now. Idea 2: Telekinesis guy powered up and produce a sonar that sees how the other group in the next level gets killed. [Danger] Idea 3: Fire guy destroyed the door to the next level. 1 guy from the other group falls onto the fire guy & warn him. [Danger] Idea 4: Fire guy blows up door and they see another group moving onto the end of that level. Simulation turned off and they ran into a pile of flames/furnace. [Danger] Idea 5: The players end up to a dead end. They see capsules that they are to enter to remove their powers because it is the end of experiment. The capsules are also to kill them after the removal of power. [Danger] Idea 6: The players end up to a dead end. Turrets suddenly appear one by one respectively. These turrets start shooting them and the tension comes up. [Harmless] -BB- |
